Dulce finds freedom, then a forever family

I was at the shelter for another reason and met a little brown dog named Brenda. I could hardly see her in her kennel, she was dark and was against the wall. She came forward to meet me and wagged her little tail like a happy camper, she just wanted to make friends. I shared her shelter picture on Facebook, but, nobody seemed interested. I couldn’t forget her, would think about her as I fell asleep. A few days later, I had to go back and pull her into our rescue. I changed her name to Dulce because it means sweet.

She tested heartworm positive, so had to go through treatment with her foster. She was spayed and then, was ready for adoption. After the treatment, her foster’s life was getting very busy, so I took precious Dulce to my house. She had a lot of fun and went to work with me daily. Dulce was as good as gold in the office. I brought her out to the Bridge Street Market and at the very end of the day, a woman I knew and her daughter came by, met her and they had an idea. By the time I got home, my phone was buzzing like crazy- they wanted to come by my house and adopt her, their neighbor, Eliot would be perfect for Dulce. I barely had time to give her a bath before they arrived.

Dulce was adopted and her new dad, Eliot, is completely in love with her. They go walking and driving and to the dog park, just having so much fun every day! It is a perfect match, a pup could not be more loved.
